According to two sources with firsthand knowledge of the discussions of the meeting, President Joe Biden stated he had a medical examination after the debate last week and is in good condition at his private meeting with Democratic governors at the White House on Wednesday night.
A person with knowledge of the president's itinerary told ABC News that the president visited the White House doctor a "few days" following the debate due to a cold. According to the individual, it was a "short" exam with no significant tests.
The president informed Democratic governors that he was in good condition, according to a second source with knowledge of the meeting's discussions.
The White House has been contacted by ABC News for a statement.
Politico was the first to report this news.
When asked earlier on Wednesday if the president had had any medical examinations since his February physical, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre replied in the negative.
"We had a conversation with his physician on that, and the answer is no," she stated.
"No," she answered when asked again if he had undergone "any kind of medical exams."
