Lakers look to end the season strong with the return of Cam Reddish.
Reddish sustained the injury during the first game of the season on January 23 against the Clippers. He missed the following 14 games until making a comeback on February 28 against the same team.
Reddish's absence has been particularly noticeable in that area, which is made worse by the fact that the Lakers have also been missing two of their top perimeter defenders for the majority of the season in Gabe Vincent (knee) and Jarred Vanderbilt (foot).
According to Ham, there are fundamental qualities that provide value to a baseball team and can have an impact on victory. And he has the size, athleticism, and dexterity to move between screens while the ball is in play and off. In addition, he can make plays with the ball going downhill and shoot 3-pointers when our stars are double- or triple-teamed. He can also make kickouts and re-drives. It all comes down to concentrating on the value you provide.
With Friday's game leaving 12 games remaining in the regular season, Ham is optimistic that Reddish can find his flow again after missing a large amount of time due to injury.
As of Friday, Reddish had appeared in just 40 of the 69 games for the Lakers.
Ham remarked, "His style of play isn't like we're asking him to take 10, 15, 20 shots." All we're asking is that he shoot when he's available. And the way he plays, defense—more precisely, defense on the ball—is his top objective. And just take care of those difficult assignments, like Buddy Hill, Kyle Lowry, Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre, and whoever else over there.
Thus, it should not take him long to get into his rhythm. Naturally, there will be some rust, as there always is when you aren't in the starting lineup. However, he ought to be able to easily slide back into the pocket for the most part of the tasks he needs to execute to assist us win.
